The Isle of Man Fund Management Association (FMA)
was established in 1987 as a trade association
to represent the Island's fund administration
and management industry.
The FMA's principal objective is to protect and enhance the collective
interests of its members. This entails working in harmony with
the Island's government and regulators to ensure that a suitable
environment exists to allow investment businesses to develop
and innovate new products and services to meet the increasingly
sophisticated needs of the international investment community,
whilst maintaining the Island's reputation as a safe and well-regulated
international financial centre with a strong emphasis on investor
protection.
Our membership spans the whole spectrum of the
Island's investment community, including collective fund managers
and administrators, trustees and custodians, stockbrokers,
private client asset managers, life assurance companies and
investment banks as well as professional firms such as lawyers
and accountants who provide services to the investment
business industry.
A vital element of the FMA's work is the promotion of the Island
and the fund industry to the international investment community.
Working in conjunction with government and other private sector
organisations the FMA seeks to raise awareness and profile
of the Island as a centre in which to locate and administer collective
investment schemes and investment management operations.
Training and Competency play a vital role in all aspects of the
financial services community and the FMA fully participate in
consultation with our regulators, other professional bodies and
training providers in order to facilitate focussed and relevant
training opportunities for member firms and their employees.
We are also pleased to offer an e-learning facility on this site
in order to assist individuals in the industry with their
development needs. |
